SunScout is built on a simple principle: your data stays yours. The app has no accounts, no ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking. We do not collect, store, or sell any personal information.
SunScout can use your device's location to show your position on the 3D terrain and compute the slope at your feet. This location is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or stored on any server. You can also explore any location in the world without granting location access at all.
To render terrain, satellite imagery, and live weather for the place you are scouting, the app sends the coordinates you are looking at to the following third-party services:
These requests are standard for any mapping or weather app. The providers may log the request (including your IP address) according to their own privacy policies. No account or personal identifier is attached to these requests. We recommend reviewing each provider's policy if you have concerns.
SunScout Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's privacy policy governs those transactions. Purchase entitlement is verified on your device.
Your saved spots, session preferences, and exported files are stored locally on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app removes this data.
SunScout does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
